The business was born out of the motivation and encouragement of many satisfied clients and business colleagues who were served by its founder, Elizabeth Gittens. They were so impressed with her business acumen and the way their real estate needs were met that they encouraged her to establish her own company. Therefore, Ms. Gittens opened her agency in the basement of her home and began to serve her clients from there.
Ms. Gittens' primary motivation was to help others realize their dreams of homeownership or at least secure their own living space until their ultimate goals could be achieved. This driving passion was ignited when she miraculously managed to close on her own home despite being a divorcee and a single mother of three young daughters living in a two-bedroom apartment.
A devout Christian, Ms. Gittens recalls praying and asking God to help her obtain a home where she could comfortably raise her daughters within five years. Almost immediately after she prayed, she said, "God spoke to me," and said: "It will happen before the end of the year."
At first, she found it hard to believe due to her financial situation at the time and thought it might not have been the Lord speaking to her. However, in quick time — less than two months — Elizabeth was blessed with a new job that doubled her salary overnight. She went from being an Accounts Receivable Clerk earning less than $20,000 annually to becoming an Assistant Director of Licensing at Universal Studio (Parent Company), making over 100% more than her previous income.
Shortly after, she qualified as a buyer and purchased her new home before the end of that same year, 1997. It turned out she had indeed heard from the Lord. The Gittens family still owns that home, which they lovingly refer to as "God's Gift."
With faith and encouragement, Ms. Gittens was inspired to resign from her full-time job and become a full-time real estate agent. With hard work and a strong focus on customer satisfaction, Gittens Quick Sale Realty opened a new location on Farmers Blvd. in St. Albans, serving the community for over 17 years. In August 2021, the office relocated to 70 East Sunrise Highway, Suite 500, Valley Stream.
Ms. Gittens Has Not Been Afraid to express her Christian faith in her business. She proudly states that Gittens Quick Sale Realty is a Christian-based business with the motto: "We treat others the way we would like others to treat us," based on the golden rule articulated by Jesus himself. Accordingly, the company prides itself on being fair and honest in its business affairs. Ms. Gittens emphasizes that their ethical practices are carried out professionally, reliably, and efficiently.
